Quick Answer
This reflection for Jesus Calling November 28 explains that God’s Word often gives enough light for the next step, even when you can’t see the whole road.
Scripture for Today
- Psalm 119:105 (KJV):
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
- Psalm 119:130 (KJV):
“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.”
Reflection: Enough Light for the Next Step
A lantern on a dark path doesn’t light the whole hill. It lights a few steps ahead. If we wait for full daylight before moving, we may never begin.
God usually guides this way. He shows enough for today and invites us to trust Him for tomorrow. The verse also says His words give understanding to the “simple,” meaning even ordinary people can grow in wisdom by reading Scripture. You don’t need to be an expert, only willing.
Try This Today
- Read Slowly: Read a short chapter of Scripture slowly.
- Keep One Line: Write down one line that speaks to your situation.
- Walk in Obedience: Take one small step of obedience today.
Prayer for Today
Lord,
Thank You for light for the next step. Help me trust You with what I can’t see, and keep me close to Your Word.
Amen.
