Quick Answer

This reflection for Jesus Calling November 25 helps you prepare your heart, not just your table, for a season of thanksgiving.

Scripture for Today

  • Psalm 100:4 (KJV):

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”

Reflection: Preparing a Thankful Heart

Before guests arrive, we clean, shop, and cook. We rarely prepare our hearts the same way. Yet the psalm says thanksgiving is how we enter God’s presence. It is the door, not the decoration.

Think of warming up an engine before a long drive. A few minutes of gratitude warms the heart so that conversations, meals, and even difficult family moments begin gently. Tonight, spend a few minutes remembering what God has done this year.

Try This Today

  • Remember His Help: List three ways God helped you this year.
  • Send a Note of Thanks: Write a short thank-you note to someone who supported you.
  • Pray for the Solitary: Pray for anyone who may feel alone this season.

Prayer for Today

Lord,
I come to You with thanks. Prepare my heart for gatherings, conversations, and quiet moments. Make me patient, kind, and grateful.
Amen.

Question to Carry This Week

Who has shaped my year, and have I thanked them?
